5 Steps to Spring into Healthy Hair

5 Steps to Spring into Healthy Hair

We’re just a few days away from Spring’s official debut, and we can’t wait! The clocks are turning forward, temperatures are rising, and as nature springs back to life, our hair and scalp are undergoing changes, as well. Here are five steps you can take today to help make the Spring transition in style.

1. Nourish and hydrate your hair and scalp with Superfood Quinoa.

After exposure to drying indoor heat for the past four months, adding extra nutrition and hydration can help your hair and scalp rebound. Look for products with superfood ingredients, natural oils and extracts, and scientifically sound actives for the fastest, healthiest results possible.

Start with BIOTOP PROFESSIONAL’s 911 Quinoa Series. Quinoa contains all nine essential amino acids naturally found within our hair. In our pH-balancing base of purified water, Quinoa not only seals the cuticle and locks-in moisture, but it hydrates and stimulates the scalp, adds elasticity and body, reduces split ends and breakage, and increases shine—everything your hair needs to spring forward!

2. Rejuvenate your hair and scalp’s elasticity.

If your scalp feels “tight” and your hair is dry or rough, they need help regaining its elasticity. The more elasticity or flexibility they have, the shinier, bouncier, and easier to style your hair will be.

Try one of our Rinseable Oil Treatments—911 Quinoa. These powerful rejuvenators will return the elasticity, bounce, and shine that is missing.

3. Banish frizz.

April showers might bring May flowers, but they can also bring frizz. If your hair is fine, it can go flat from the humidity with one sprinkle. With curls and waves, you can suddenly find your mane “growing” larger and frizzier.

For fine hair, our 20 Volumizing Boost Series with Green Tea Leaf Extract, Citric Acid, and Abyssinian Oil provide long-lasting humidity protection, while leaving hair fuller and bouncier. If your hair is wavy or curly, our 69 Series with Coconut, Avocado, and Almond Oil, fights humidity to keep frizz in check, as formulas help define curls and waves.

4. Stop the shedding.

Normal shedding—or hair loss—is about 50 to 100 hairs per day. But during seasonal transitions, you also might notice a bit—or even a lot—more. There are many potential causes, including the lack of exercise in winter, eating fewer fruits and vegetables, clogged pores, and even post-COVID hair loss.

Try a deep cleanse with our 09 Clarifying Shampoo to remove oil and sebum buildup that might be blocking hair follicles. For more severe cases, 04 Shedding Shampoo and Shedding Repair Ampoules with Lactic Acid and Citric Acid can help prevent shedding and improve hair’s strength, creating fuller, thicker-looking hair. If the heavier shedding continues for more than a month, see a hairstylist, trichologist, or dermatologist who specializes in hair loss.
